Lionsgate has announced that a new Hunger Games film is on the way. The film will be based on the upcoming prequel novel by Suzanne Collins, which is set to be released in 2025. The film will be called The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and it will explore the origins of the Hunger Games and the character of Coriolanus Snow, who later becomes the tyrannical ruler of Panem. Francis Lawrence, who directed the previous three Hunger Games films, is set to direct the prequel.
