Borussia Dortmund emerged victorious in the DFB-Pokal final on Thursday, defeating RB Leipzig 4-1 courtesy of a brace each from Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho. The triumph marks Dortmund's fifth DFB-Pokal crown, and their first since 2017.
The match started brightly for Leipzig, but it was Dortmund who took the lead in the 5th minute through Sancho. Haaland doubled the advantage just 23 minutes later, leaving Leipzig with a mountain to climb. Sancho struck again on the stroke of half-time to give Dortmund a commanding 3-0 lead.
Leipzig rallied in the second half, with Dani Olmo pulling a goal back in the 71st minute. However, Haaland restored Dortmund's three-goal cushion just five minutes later, effectively sealing the victory.
