Six-Year Contract Worth $390 Million

Auburn's Coaching Staff to Receive $6.91 Million This Season

AUBURN, Ala. - Newly appointed Auburn Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze will receive a hefty base salary of $65 million annually over the course of his six-year contract, according to an official from Auburn athletics. Freeze's coaching staff will also be well-compensated this season, with a total salary of $6.91 million being shared among six position coaches and both coordinators. These contract details were obtained by the Opelika-Auburn News. "We are thrilled to have Coach Freeze on board," said Auburn Athletics Director Allen Greene. "His proven track record and commitment to excellence make him the ideal leader for our football program." The contract officially became public on Friday, confirming earlier reports from ESPN. The terms of the deal include an average of $65 million per season, with a total value of $390 million over the six-year period. Freeze previously served as head coach at Ole Miss and Liberty, where he led both programs to impressive seasons and bowl victories. Auburn hopes that Freeze's leadership will bring similar success to the Tigers. "I am grateful for the opportunity to coach at Auburn," said Freeze. "I believe in the potential of this program and am excited to work with our players, staff, and fans to achieve great things." Auburn's football program has experienced some struggles in recent years, but the hiring of Freeze and the generous financial commitment made by the university are positive signs for the future of the program.
